WOMEN ON THEIR WAY is a great opportunity for women who want to enter the labor market, but need clarification, education and guidance according to their abilities and interests.

We focus on flexible combined courses including Danish classes, job training and improvement of professional and personal qualifications.
The participants will be part of individually designed courses, which includes adult education (FVU) in reading and writing, physical education, body and health, culture and labor market and job training. We also offer first aid, hygiene, entrepreneur courses and others.
To recognize each woman's qualifications we evaluate linguistic, professional and general qualifications.
Aim
Increase the integration of women with foreign ethnic backgrounds into the labor market which will improve equality.
Develop new concrete methods and tools to bring the women an education for full time or part time employment.
To establish a dialogue with companies.
To develop new methods and tools to offer the women education or employment, part time jobs included.
Geographic area
Region Hovedstaden - The courses is held at Sprogcenter Nordsjælland
Ballerup Sprogcenter and Center for Employment, Language and Integration (CBSI) in Copenhagen with three parallel classes.
The Course
5 courses of 12 women, a total of 60 women, will be held in Hillerød, at CBSI Copenhagen and at Ballerup Sprogcenter in the period of January 2010 - January 2012.
Each course takes 24 weeks, 30 hours/week.
The first courses began September 2009 and will end in the middle of March this year. New courses began January in Hillerød, February at CBSI and March in Ballerup.
Courses to come: August 2010, January 2011 and August 2011.
Motivations for the project
The project took its rise in the report "New ways to jobs for foreign women - an analyze of motivation for employment among family supported women in Region Hovedstaden" - Click here (Danish version)
In "Region Hovedstaden", about 14,000 women now have the opportunity to participate in education which will bring them employment and education.

The project is financed by the Social Fond and the local employment council: LBR Copenhagen, Hillerød, Helsingør, Frederikssund, Fredensborg, Rudersdal, Allerød.
